Hi there, I’m Ben Haws. I am a writer, researcher, and marketer for Haws & Co. I love storytelling, so I studied Media Communications in college and then later earned my MBA in Marketing. I’m an instinctive saver, but I became passionate about financial health when I took a personal finance class as a young adult. I practiced what I learned when I paid off my student loans in 4 years. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading, watching movies, investing, playing board games, and telling dad jokes that I’m sure everyone enjoys hearing. I can fluently speak in movie quotes. I am Wilma’s husband and Catherine’s brother.

Catherine Haws

Haws & Co. cofounder and illustrator Catherine Haws

Hi, I’m Catherine Haws! I am a writer at Haws & Co. and the illustrator for the Westwood series, and I am Ben’s younger sister. I started writing books with crayons at age 5 and I published my first book at age 25. I studied Media Communications in college. When I graduated, I was overwhelmed by the amount of student loan debt I had, so I looked up how much I owed, stared it straight in the face, and paid it off in one year. I love traveling and have worked at 2 Olympics and visited Jane Austen’s House. When I’m not traveling, I am usually writing poetry, reading, hammocking, eating potatoes, watching movies, and dreaming up business ideas.

Wilma Haws

Haws & Co. cofounder Wilma Haws

Hi, I’m Wilma Haws, the only non-original Haws here, but I get to claim the name because I’m married to Ben. I am a writer at Haws & Co. and manage the administrative logistics of running our business. I studied Business Administration in college, where I fell in love… with spreadsheets, and I graduated debt-free. As a child, I had a propensity to stash cash, which often made me the go-to sibling in my family for microloans. I didn’t know about interest at the time, but now I do and LOVE talking about it. When I’m not writing or having fun money conversations, I am all about hiking, reading, traveling, spending quality time with friends, eating pizza, setting goals, budgeting, using Oxford commas, and drinking coffee.
